We are bkr people. What we carry reflects who we are and what we find beautiful. We don't eat things we can't pronounce or marinate our water in polyethylene terephthalate. We do not accept logic like: leaching chemicals in our drinking water, awkward shaped mouthpieces during our workouts, or an island made of plastic with a 700-year zero-interest lease on development. We think three times before buying disposable. On our way out the door it's always bkr with the keys and wallet. 500 mL (16 oz) and narrow mouth: bkr is designed to hold the same amount as typical plastic water bottles and to have a similar mouth opening so you don’t spill on yourself. The 500mL bkr is 7.88 inches tall (20 cm) and 3.18 inches wide (8.08 cm), opening = 1.0 in (2.54 cm).
All components are BPA–free, phthalate–free, FDA approved materials: BPA (or Bisphenol A) is a chemical found in plastic water bottles. It has been linked to a host of ailments, including increased risk of cancer, obesity, early onset puberty, and diabetes. Phthalates, which are used in plastics to make them more flexible, have been linked to birth defects and changing hormone levels.
Lightweight, sturdy, and easy to carry: bkr’s cap is designed so that the bottle can be easily carried, while bkr’s compact size makes it easy to throw into your purse or bag while you’re on the go.
Why glass?: Glass does not leach chemicals, glass can be endlessly recycled, and everything tastes better out of glass. Plastic bottles leach chemicals that have been linked to cancer and other disease; plastic takes 700 years to decompose; and the energy and fuel spent producing and shipping bottled water is destroying our planet. Meanwhile, aluminum bottles are lined with plastic and steel bottles make your water taste like metal (plus, you can’t see what’s floating in them).
Silicone sleeve: bkr’s silicone sleeve provides something to hold on to, so the bottle doesn’t slip from your hands. Silicone is non–toxic and hypoallergenic; it has few open pores, so it does not harbor or promote bacteria or fungal growth. Because of its high heat resistance, silicone can be boiled to sterilize and is dishwasher safe.
Dishwasher safe: The entire bottle (glass, sleeve, cap) can go on the top rack of your dishwasher. You don’t have to take the sleeve off to wash your bkr. But if you want to, it’s easy. Click here to watch bkr founder Tal demonstrate how to remove the bkr bottle sleeve.
Will it break?: bkr is durable; you’ll be surprised at how well it holds up. However, it’s still glass, so we recommend being careful and treating bkr how you would your cell phone. We know bkr is one little glass bottle you'll treat carefully. If it does break within the first 90 days of purchase: email us at support@elua.com with a photo of your broken bkr, the original receipt, and a note describing in 250 words or less why you love it, how it broke, and why you want another one and we'll replace it. You pay the shipping and handling, we pay for the bottle. *Limited to one bkr per customer. Alteration, misuse or abuse void this policy.

Q. Why a glass water bottle?
A. Glass is better for your body and the earth. Glass is chemically inert; it does not alter the taste of its contents and does not allow any unsafe chemicals to leach and make you sick. Glass is a fully recyclable material. It can be recycled endlessly and recovered glass is used as the majority ingredient in new glass containers. And without question, everything tastes better out of glass.
Q. Why the silicone sleeve?
A. The silicone sleeve is non-toxic, protects the glass, provides a quality grip, is dishwasher safe, and is clean, modern, minimal, and cool. Silicone is 100% recyclable. You can find specialty recycling centers, or mail it back to us and we'll recycle it for you.
Q. Does bkr sell sleeves, glass or caps separately?
A. Extra caps and glass can be purchased in the shop. Sleeves are not sold separately.
Q. What is bkr made of?
A. bkr is made of BPA-free, BPA replacement free, FDA approved materials. The bottle is glass, the sleeve and gasket are silicone and the cap is made of food-grade, recyclable polypropylene.
Q. What is BPA?
A. BPA or Bisphenol A is a chemical found in plastic water bottles. It has been linked to a host of ailments including increased risk of cancer, obesity, early onset puberty, and diabetes. While many plastic products contain BPA replacements, we don't want to find out 10 years from now that those are not safe either. There is no BPA or BPA replacement in your bkr. Not in the bottle, not in the sleeve and not in the cap.
Q. How do I take care of bkr?
A. Clean your bkr with hot soapy water or on the top rack of your dishwasher. The sleeve does not need to be removed, but if you want to do spring cleaning it's easy - see the bottle page for a cheat sheet on how. We recommend storing with the cap off. Avoid freezing, using in the microwave, or exposing to sudden temperature changes.
Q. Will my bkr break?
A. Your bkr bottle is made of glass - it's durable glass protected by a cushiony silicone sleeve, but it is still glass - so treat it carefully as you would your cell phone or any other thing you love. If you accidentally break it in the first 90 days, we will replace it for you - see our policy page for details.
Q. How big is bkr?
A. bkr comes in two sizes: Original: 500mL (16 oz) and Big: 1L (32 oz). The 500mL bkr is 7.88 inches tall (20 cm) and 3.18 inches wide (8.08 cm), opening = 1.0 in (2.54 cm). Big 1L is 10 inches tall (25.4 cm) and 3.75 inches wide (9.5 cm), opening = 1.25 in (3.17 cm). ***Sorry, the 1 L bkr is not yet available in Canada.
