If you’re like me, surfing the net, watching the news and reading the paper, you’ll find that every day there’s more and more opinion out there without facts to back things up. We’re bombarded with opinions that pose as facts and facts whose sources are as reliable as a fortune cookie’s powers.
I’m a new dad of a little guy who’s only five weeks old and I want to know if, or at least believe that I’m making the best decisions possible for my family. It’s taking more and more time to make those decisions as I sift through heaping mountains of gibberish that are supposed to pass as information.
After spending two hours with a medical expert last week, I learned and was able to dispel more information that I “learned” from unqualified sources online and from outdated books than I ever thought possible.
As a fiery example; everyone KNOWS that vaccines are a window into human innovation and one of many keys we use to block sickness and disease out of our bodies. The problem with everyone knowing that vaccines are great is that everyone else KNOWS that vaccines are one of the four horseman of the apocalypse and the end is nigh if you inject your child with them.
Here’s the thing, there’s a third group of everyones out there surfing the net for information, and its people like you and me. The ones who watch, read and try to learn, but seldom take our thoughts to print because we simply can’t be bothered to reply to outrageous and even egregiously erroneous “facts”. We are the majority, we just let it be, try to ignore it and move on to an eventual answer.
At the end of the day, we’re left with a dearth of unencumbered facts and the monumental task of sorting through people’s opinions to find substantiated facts on which we can build our knowledge base and future decisions upon.
Lucky for me, many decisions about my baby and family are easier to make with a great health support network that is free to access and use in my city. Most of the answers I get from medical professionals start with, “This is what you need to know… and here’s why.” I’ve yet to be told something I haven’t read before online, but knowing which fact I read was actually a fact is calming.
Part of good health is good water. After all, our bodies are 65% water, and for infants, it can be as high as 75-78%. I am fortunate to work at Elua. I am surrounded by experts; experts who treat some of the most difficult water sources imaginable to make it drinkable using everything from water filters to tablets and Ultra Filtration Filters. Bottled water has its share of issues, but so does tap water. Reputable NSF certified water filters can make tap water pure and great tasting without costing too much. It's one of the reasons why I trust Elua's expertise when selecting water filters for a water filtration system that is right for my family.
Using the expertise of my co-workers, I’m confident that I’m making good decisions based on facts. Many of those facts are actually frightening; which I didn’t realize until I passed on this information to a friend over dinner. I had to tell him I wasn’t trying to scare him, but that I was only passing on the facts and misconceptions about tap water and bottled water that I knew about. Both tap and bottled water have their own unique advantages and disadvantages; but none of which can offer as much peace of mind [in my opinion] as water that has gone through the right set of water filters.
We often forget that there are experts out there who can answer our questions, but we seldom use them because it’s easier to Google a question rather than Google an expert and pick their brains. Experts are able to give good, scientific and proven information on which we can make a decision, the internet is not an expert… and neither am I. I’m just a father trying to do what’s best for his family.
You may not agree with my opinions, and that’s ok. I am, however, confident in the sources of knowledge I have based my opinions on, and that helps me sleep better at night. I’m going to be a better father for it, and my family is going to be healthier for it as well.
So what is my opinion? Well, you can call it biased because I work for Elua, but at the end of the day, I choose to use Elua’s filtration solution with NSF certified water filters for my family because their water filters give me peace of mind; I know what’s in my glass, but more importantly, I know what’s not in it.
I’m not going to sell you on how great water filters are, or how bad tap water and bottled water can be; with the right facts in your hands you can make an informed decision. What I can do is offer you an open door to the experts I trust to make the best decisions for my family. Give us a call at 1-888-998-0030 and pick our brains about water filters and your water.
